This guide is designed to help you locate textbooks in the library, and how to request them.
Loans
Circulation of materials will be available as per the official Library policy. In case of lockdown, loan periods will be automatically extended and patrons notified.
Does the Library have textbooks? Mostly no.
Unfortunately, the Panitza Library does not buy current textbooks being used in classes. Our mission is to support AUBG curriculum with supplemental resources.
But sometimes, yes.
You can find in the library donated items or faculty personal copies on Reserve.
For example, if your professor put a copy in the library on Reserve. Or if your professor assigned a regular book to be a textbook (example: if you are taking a literature class and have to read Chaucer's "The Canterbury Tales" …yes, the library has a copy.
You can find textbooks for 2-hour borrowing in Course Reserves.
Requests - Patrons may request on-loan library items, through the Panitza Library Online Public Access Catalog or at the Circulation Desk.
The bookstore also offers textbook rentals on many textbooks. Renting is cheaper than buying, especially if you don’t plan to keep the textbook for future reference.
