Effective Learning : Creativity

Here you can find some useful study strategies, tips and inspiration.

LEARNING CREATIVITY

Make associations

Creativity is the combining of subjects, the search for patterns especially between elements that seem to be impossible to combine at first.

Keep track of your ideas

Write down any idea that comes up in your head. It’s quite likely you forget it the next morning. And don’t forget to go through your notes every week or month.

Make decisions

Some ideas just don’t go anywhere and it can be difficult to decide whether to stop chasing it.

New experiences

Being open to new ideas and experiences is a key ingredient for creativity.

Don't think about mistakes

Even if you fail at some point, it only matters how you treat the failure that determines your success.

Break your routine

Try changing your routine even for a while: go study outside, go for a walk, get up early.

Look at something green

Here is another psychological trick: look at green immediately before doing on your creative task to increase creativity. Don’t try with blue or yellow.

Doodle

Unexpectedly this is more likely to help your mind stop wandering, rather than make it wander.

Practice creativity

The key is in hard work and practice. Daily.

As many ideas as possible

At least one of them will be good. Don’t focus too much on generating one particularly outstanding idea, rater try developing many different ideas.

Finish what you have started

It’s always better to end the projects you are already working on before jumping into new ones.
